This is one of the best places in town to get free wifi. It's always a good sign when you see laptops and open tables, and the Beanery has both. Watch out for lunch hours as I always feel guilty taking a whole table when people want to eat. Though the comfy chair by the window is nice if you don't mind using your lap. Also they close at 4:00 so the quieter 9:00-11:30 and 1:30-4:00 are prime "surfing" times.
There are two usable wifi signals. One is public access but weaker (from a neighbor I think). The nice strong one just needs an access code that they'll give to you. (Update: the SSID is "2WIRE025" and the WEP password is "6835331277")

Nice area in the lobby with computers and power connections near a fountain. Also near the bar in the lobby called "RiverCity Grille". (Should be close enough to get a very good signal with a beer and/or food.)

Spent time working in the lobby but could not get a wireless signal. Someone with a room asked about the same and was handed an ethernet cable.
Update: I was able to get a weak signal in one of the presentation rooms. It was enough to get webpages cached for my presentation. They were also ready to run a cable to my laptop.

Note: You might want to try different seats in the room. The middle couch seemed to have spotty coverage while the couches in either corners of the room had a much stronger signal. (it varied from -80db to -40db) The corner with the desk was best with 1.3Mbit down with 165kb up.
